Yeah, TFU is a stain imo. When I think back to the much better titles on PC... *sigh*
Battlefront is a good one though for all platforms. They really should finish up the third at some point.
What is with charging for beta access?
So...are they basically reprinting his editorial without linking back to it? Aren't there some kind of rules against that?
"Forgetting"? No not at all. They want hardcore dollars as well, but as I said, they really don't want that image this gen because it feasibly wouldn't help their casual efforts. This by no means is meant to rehash the erroneous argument that Wii has "no hardcore games". But I don't think Nintendo are very focused on reaching the right audience for them.
"The reason Nintendo is reaching to the causals or expanded audience is because they rule the market m...
As Rounded Peg says way above, Japanese devs are pretty crap with PC ports. They design their games for consoles and then if PC gamers are "lucky" very poorly port them over. So in that way, Japanese-made games are pretty much always better on consoles, though I'd blame that on the dev and not the platform itself. So, not every game is better on PC. The chances of it being better are a lot higher though with Western devs.
Ocelot, PC gaming has possibly already jumped to...
"You guys forget to add the pc tab under this article, whos hating on the pc?"
Never surprised. N4G is a console gamer's site at heart.
That was crazy awesome. Got all those people to line the road and even kneel to his mom, haha. And to top it all off, a waterfall of bodies. Like playing Lemmings with real people...hmmm
This is exactly why I got it on PC. Mods put it head and shoulders above other versions. DLC and user mods make for a very long game.
Good blog.
FFIX imo is greater or at least as great as all the other PSX FFs. But you always have to contend with the legion of FFVII fans that haven't played any FF before it. Hate of FFIX is proof of that imo. People complaining about the setting as atypical of the series obviously haven't played the six games before it. VII and VIII were the exceptions back then, not the standard.
Obviously, my appreciation of FFIX is personal preference, but to claim the game was...
"Why are PC boys posting crysis pics?."
Because the very first post, if you read it.
Why are people complaining about the pics posted?
The game can't help if it's the best-looking thing out right now. Might not be the best game overall imo, but nothing on consoles will come close to the visuals. Not UC2, not KZ2. They're good-looking games, but the best consoles have to offer will never look better than the best PC offers. That's just the natu...
Haha! Batman of Zur En Arrh.
They don't want the hardcore image; the money isn't in that. They've proven this with every E3 so far. They want the Wii to be marketed as a fun little box that plays games, not a serious gaming machine. They could care less about hardcore image and I'd think in fact it would subvert the whole idea of the Wii as a console "for everyone".
Good article, btw.
@GEC:
Yeah, but: "We’re not giving details out at the moment, but it is being developed for Xbox 360."
http://news.teamxbox.com/xb...
That was June. It's true, they've said the PC version will take precedence over any future console ports, but that is not the same as outright cancelling. Someone over there needs to get their story strai...
@Unwanted:
Yes. APB has always been in planning and development for 360 and RTW has said they intended it as a PC/360 game. Lately, it was confirmed (amidst more rumours of cancellation) in development for 360 at E3.
It sounds to me like an Alan Wake in reverse. Work has been done, but for whatever reasons, the 360 version is on the back burner.
Sure. The same like Star Wars, Star Trek, Asimov's Foundation, and Herbert's Dune are all the same because they take place in space.
The post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland hasn't been "original" since the a-bomb first went off. Let the guys make their game and they'll put their own unique spin on it.
This VG247 article is better fleshed out: http://www.vg247.com/2009/0...
Neco, you should give Tekken or Soul Calibur a shot. Lack of features was my biggest complaint as well until Namco started bringing it in spades.
I'm not the kind of guy that's going to deck out a Home space, dress up an avatar, or buy new costume DLC. If others want to, fine. But it's not of interest to me personally. The only time I'll entertain the notion is if I can make my own like on PC. If I want to stand out, I'll create something original.
What I don't understand are the people acting like everyone else should be too good to buy that stuff.
Companies aren't advertising to individuals and unique personas. They're trying to market to the broadest demographic possible, which means appealing to generalities and stereotypes. It is "tricky business" to try reaching out to any one group without offending.
I agree with the Twitter thing. It's a crap thing for gaming news used only to tease meaningless info and hype so the substantial stuff can be revealed through more traditional sources. I do not give a good god...
"And I'd rather play a game structured by a professional video game development company rather than add crappy mods made by some gross basement virgin video game designer wannabe."
What are you, kidding?
Mods are, to quote some internet sage, serious business. Sure, the efforts vary by game, but there are a LOT of great mods out there. And especially in the case of Fallout 3 and Oblivion since they play friendly with the modding community. There are a lot o...
